Martha Rivera Pesquera, PhD

IPADE Professor and Independent Board Member — IPADE Business School

Dr. Rivera-Pesquera has taught and lectured in several conferences and Executive Education Programs in several European and Latin American countries. Her research work has appeared in many journals including the Harvard Business Review, Journal of Management, Journal of Business Research, Organizations & Markets in Emerging Economies, Management Dynamics in the Knowledge Economy. She has also conducted consulting projects in over 30 companies of different sizes, industries, for profit and not-for-profit; has been board member in different companies. Since 2010, Dr. Rivera-Pesquera is the Mexican representative for the Internationally Accepted Marketing Standards Board. She is the author of a report about the impact of multichannel on the firm’s strategy formulation in Mexico and co-authored the book: Re Evolución Digital. She has been and currently is a member of several Boards, both for profit and non-for-profit organizations, and has published extensively on diversity on corporate boards.

Maria is an Industrial Engineer with academic excellence from Universidad Iberoamericana and has a Master’s degree in Business Management with concentration in Finance from Harvard. She spent her entire professional life in the private equity sector, holding positions such as: CEO of the Mexican Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AMEXCAP); Partner at Ictus Capital; and as associate at the NAFTA Fund LLC. Actually, she performs as CEO at Bolsa Institutional de Valores (BIVA), a global electronic marketplace for buying and selling securities, created with the aim of deepening the Mexican stock market and generating a competitive financing alternative for high growth companies. Additionally, she serves as an independent member and partner of various boards. María’s career has been recognized with an award from the Women Economic Forum, from the International Entrepreneurs Council, and in publications such as Expansión, Forbes, Líderes, Revista 2020, among others.
