Eleanor Brown is a Founder of DiversiBoard, a Techstars company (Atlanta, powered by JP Morgan). DiversiBoard is a rapidly growing platform that enables companies in her native Caribbean and West Africa to source global talent, and companies in North America and the EU to source diverse technical talent from both her native Caribbean and West Africa. She is also a Professor of Law at Fordham University, and was one of the few Black women who were full professors at the Pennsylvania State University, the ninth largest US university. She remains an affiliated faculty member at Penn State’s Rock Ethics Institute. She also recently served as an Associate Dean of External Affairs and Corporate Partnerships for Penn State Law.
Brown, a Canadian, Jamaican and U.S. national, was previously a chair of the Jamaica Trade Board. Brown was appointed by Andrew Holness, the Prime Minister of Jamaica, to the CARICOM Commission. She has served on the boards of several publicly traded Caribbean companies and was the youngest director of two subsidiaries of the Bank of Nova Scotia (Jamaica), one of the largest subsidiaries of the largest Canadian bank (by market capitalization). Brown chaired the Conduct Review Committee of the Board for Scotia Jamaica Investment Management. She was a member of the Sugar Enterprise Team, the entity appointed by the Jamaican Cabinet to oversee Chinese government participation in Jamaica’s largest agricultural sector, sugar.
