Tracy M. Preston is an accomplished public-company executive and board advisor with more than three decades of experience leading legal, governance, risk, and compliance functions across global retail, consumer products, and manufacturing enterprises. She currently serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary of Macy’s, Inc., a leading omni-channel retailer, and is a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team, contributing directly to enterprise strategy, capital allocation, and risk oversight.

Throughout her career, Ms. Preston has served as Chief Legal Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at multiple public and private companies, including Macy’s, HanesBrands, Neiman Marcus Group, and Levi Strauss & Co. She has advised boards and senior leadership teams on complex matters spanning corporate governance, cybersecurity, enterprise risk management, global supply chain resilience, ESG, shareholder activism, transformational transactions, and crisis management. Her experience includes leading a dual-track IPO and sale process, major divestitures, large-scale restructurings, and cross-border business expansion, as well as guiding organizations through significant cybersecurity and regulatory challenges.

Ms. Preston brings a collaborative, pragmatic, and commercially grounded approach to board service, informed by extensive experience presenting to and advising boards on strategy, risk, and long-term value creation. She has served on several nonprofit boards, including Georgetown University and the Association of Corporate Counsel, where she was Immediate Past Global Board Chair. Widely recognized as a leader in her profession, she has been honored by The Legal 500, Savoy Magazine, the Association of Corporate Counsel, and other organizations for her leadership and impact. Ms. Preston holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
