Megan is a strategic business advisor, nuanced risk leader, and multi-corporate function C-suite expert with experience in publicly traded, privately held, and family controlled global companies in the agriculture, food, manufacturing, ingredients, commodities, and consumer packaged goods spaces.
Megan served as the Chief Legal & External Affairs Officer and Corporate Secretary for Scoular, listed as the 49th largest company in the U.S. by Forbes. Scoular is a privately held $10B agribusiness company that buys, sells, stores, handles, and processes grain and ingredients by leveraging international trade and transportation. With more than 120 offices and facilities in North America and Asia, Scoular provides solutions to farmers, grain processors, renewable energy producers, and manufacturers of animal feed, aquafeed, and pet food, as well as food, beverages, and supplements.
In addition to her executive roles, Megan is a member of Scoular’s Board of Directors. She also serves as an independent director on the Board for Yakima Chief Hops, one of North America’s largest hops suppliers to brewers across the globe (Compensation Committee and Risk Committee member).
As a member of Scoular’s executive leadership team, Megan is actively engaged in all aspects of the company’s many businesses worldwide, including developing and implementing strategic initiatives through mergers and acquisitions; global expansion planning; governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) and enterprise risk management (ERM); environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies; brand and community engagement; and innovative human resources, diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ), and compensation programs. She has a deep understanding of how to conduct business and grow companies in geographies around the world, while also being known for her sophisticated leadership in bet-the-company crisis management situations.
Megan has global responsibility for legal, compliance, and corporate governance matters, and manages multiple pillars in the company’s ERM program. She leads Scoular’s world-wide Legal and Compliance teams, as well as its Brand Marketing, Corporate Communications, External and Community Affairs, and Sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) teams. In addition, during 2020, Megan served as the company’s interim Chief Human Resource Officer and founded Scoular’s inagural employee resource group, Scoular Women Influencing Culture.
In the fifteen years preceding her joining the leadership team at Scoular, Megan was an associate and partner with an Am Law 100 law firm in its Food & Agribusiness unit focusing on compliance, labor and employment, and significant
