Latanya Mapp is a globally recognized strategist, former diplomat, and visionary executive with over three decades of leadership across the United Nations, U.S. foreign service, philanthropy, and global NGOs. As former President and CEO of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors and the Global Fund for Women, Ms. Mapp scaled organizations to global impact, overseeing hundreds of millions in philanthropic investment and advocacy. She is currently serving as LSI Fellow at the University of Chicago.

An attorney by training, she began her career with the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and later held senior roles with UNICEF, USAID, and Planned Parenthood Global. Her honors include the U.S. State Department’s Superior Honor Award, the Colin Powell Fellowship, and recognition on Forbes’ “50 Over 50 for Impact”, “50 Most Powerful Women in U.S. Philanthropy”, and “50 Women to Watch on Boards.”

Ms. Mapp currently advises social enterprises and coaches C-suite leaders and boards as well as a member of the Navigate AI Collaborative. She serves on the boards of Oxfam, Fondation CHANEL, Luminate Foundation, Re-Imagination Lab, and MSH. She is also a published author, Columbia professor, and Executive Producer of the Emmy-nominated Fundamental documentary series. In “The Everyday Feminist: The Key to Sustainable Social Impact-Driving Movements We Need Now More than Ever,” I write about how grassroots feminists are changing the world—and what we can all do to support them. The book includes exclusive interviews with well-known activists like Tarana Burke, founder of the “me too.” movement, alongside unsung women committed to transforming their communities and advancing movements—whom I call everyday feminists.
