With 25+ years of leadership experience across the consumer products, retail, agriculture and food industries, Effie creates value for companies at the intersection of strategic international growth, technological transformation, risk oversight and stakeholder trust.

As SVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. (NYSE: FDP), Effie serves at the intersection of strategy, governance, and enterprise risk for a global consumer business with a complex supply chain and multijurisdictional footprint. She advises the Board and the Audit, Governance, and Compensation Committees on fiduciary oversight, enterprise risk, and other consequential judgment calls, while leading the company’s public company governance and SEC disclosure cadence with a focus on rigor, accountability, and reputational stewardship.

During a significant period of brand and business transformation, she led the legal and governance strategy for Fresh Del Monte’s court supervised acquisition of Del Monte Foods, unifying the Del Monte brand and establishing the global IP and licensing framework that now protects and stewards that legacy under the company’s ownership. Her leadership has also supported enterprise transformation initiatives that sharpened portfolio focus and reinforced governance, risk, and financial discipline across the business, contributing to improved performance, reduced leverage, and sustained value creation. She plays a central role in guiding the company through some of the most consequential issues facing global businesses today, including trade and tariff volatility, geopolitical and logistics disruption, and cybersecurity and Ai governance, bringing a disciplined approach to risk, resilience, and board level decision making. Her role also encompasses capital allocation and financings, cross border M&A, and broader enterprise risk oversight, reinforcing her position at the center of the Fresh Del Monte’s most consequential strategic decisions. She brings the judgment, composure and operator mindset that boards value in periods of disruption, transformation, and sustained international growth.

Before joining Fresh Del Monte’s executive leadership team, Effie spent two decades advising at the sharp end of governance, risk, and complex transactions, including senior in house roles at Cargill and Tyson Foods and rising to partnership at Am Law 100 firms. Across those roles, she advised CEOs and boards of multinational companies on fiduciary oversight, regulatory and compliance exposure, investigations, strategic transactions, and bet the company disputes, including international arbitration.

In addition to her executive role, Effie serves as an independent director of the Braille Institute of America, a nonprofit organization that has transformed the lives of people with vision loss for more than a century, and on the Advisory Board of Eudia, a Palo Alto based, venture backed legal Ai technology company focused on supporting corporate legal departments.

Effie brings a board ready perspective shaped by disciplined judgment, rigorous risk oversight, and steady execution in complex, high stakes environments. She is particularly well suited for board and advisory roles with global consumer, retail, food, logistics, and supply chain intensive businesses navigating transformation, growth, and governance complexity.
