Shelli Willis brings to board service over 30 years of experience in finance, real estate, corporate governance, and risk mitigation strategy in highly regulated industries. Shelli works with corporate leaders on Board strategy, risk mitigation, sustainability and corporate governance matters, as well as complex finance and real estate transactions. She is currently the team lead for the firm’s Financial Services Industry large bank subgroup and is working with its Innovation Team to pilot several firm AI efforts.

Prior to rejoining the law firm, Shelli served for more than six years as a deputy general counsel and assistant corporate secretary to SunTrust Bank, where she led the merger and integration legal team for SunTrust in its merger of equals with BB&T and was an integral member of the corporate governance and risk teams that structured the new Truist Board. Her merger and integration efforts were recognized by the Fulton County Daily Report, which awarded her the In House Impact Award.

A member of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2025, Shelli is professionally and civically active. She is the immediate past chair of the Advisory Board for Trust for Public Land-Georgia and serves on its Executive Committee. She also serves on the Boards of the Georgia Commercial Real Estate Coalition, Ser Familia and the North Carolina Coastal Federation (NNCCF), chairs the NCCF Audit Committee and serves on its Executive and Land Acquisition Committees.
