With 20+ years of leadership experience driving international and technological hyper-growth across the consumer products, retail, agriculture and food industries, Effie delivers value for companies at the intersection of technological transformation, international growth and stakeholder engagement.

Effie D. Silva is a strategic business advisor, and multi- function C-suite leader with experience in publicly traded, privately held, and family controlled global companies in the consumer-packaged goods, retail, agriculture and food, manufacturing and logistics industries.

As SVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. (NYSE: FDP), Effie operates at the intersection of strategy, governance, and enterprise risk for a global consumer business with a complex supply chain and multi-jurisdiction footprint at a time of global brand growth and seismic technological transformation. She advises FDP’s Board and the Audit, Governance, and Compensation committees on fiduciary oversight and the most consequential judgment calls, and she leads the public-company governance and SEC disclosure cadence with a focus on decision quality, control discipline, and reputational stewardship. Effie led the legal and governance transformation for the company’s court-supervised acquisition of Del Monte Foods, unifying the Del Monte brand and building the global IP and licensing framework to secure and steward the brand under FDP’s ownership. Her remit spans Ai enterprise integration, capital allocation and financings, cross-border M&A, cybersecurity and crisis response, and enterprise risk oversight. She brings a board-ready, operator’s lens that strengthens oversight, accelerates sound decision-making, and supports sustainable value creation for shareholders and stakeholders.

Before joining Fresh Del Monte’s executive leadership team, Effie spent two decades operating at the sharp end of governance, risk, and complex transactions, including senior in-house roles at Cargill and Tyson Foods and partner seats at Am Law 100 firms. She advised CEOs and Boards of multinational companies on fiduciary oversight, regulatory and compliance exposure, investigations, M&A and strategic deals, and bet-the-company disputes, including international arbitration. That combination built a board-level perspective grounded in disciplined judgment, clear risk framing, and execution under pressure.

In addition to her corporate roles, Effie also serves as an independent director on the Board for the Braille Institute of America, a nonprofit organization that for more than 100 years has been positively transforming the lives of those with vision loss, and on the Advisory Board for Eudia, a Palo Alto–based venture capital-backed legal Ai technology startup that develops software to assist corporate legal departments.
