As of June 30, 2022, women now hold 28% of the Russell 3000 Index company board seats, and only 11% have gender-balanced boards. Recognizing the significant gap, 50/50 Women on Boards is advancing gender balance and diversity on corporate boards by transparently reporting on the progress and making the data publicly available to to search.
We define gender-balanced and diverse boards as women holding 50% of corporate board seats, including women of color holding 20%. Boards with an odd number of members are balanced if women hold one more or one less of half of the seats.

Based on the number of women directors, each corporation is rated as GB, 3+, 2, 1, or a 0 company.
