“California companies are scrambling to bring on diverse board members ahead of a new state law’s end-of-year deadline, but recruiting women of color has proven a challenge for many. The state now requires companies with six directors or more to have at least three female board directors by the end of 2021. Another law requires all public companies headquartered in California to have at least one minority or “underrepresented community” director by the same deadline.”
