Kim Nelson serves on the board of Colgate-Palmolive Company, Cummins Inc., and Tate and Lyle, PLC. Kim retired from a distinguished 30-year career with General Mills as SVP, External Relations, a global C-suite role in which she reported to the CEO and served on the company’s senior leadership team. Kim was accountable for the corporate brand/reputation, consumer relations, issue/crisis management, internal/external communications, sustainability, philanthropy, government relations and industry relations. Prior, Kim was President of the $1.2B Snack Food Division, where she drove double digit revenue and profit growth. Kim was a founding member of the company’s Black Champions Network, co-founder of its Women-In-Marketing Network, and leader of its Women’s Officer Group.
Kim is active in the Twin Cities community, as board director for the Northside Achievement Zone and Fair Vote Minnesota. Kim received an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS from Georgetown University.
