Alex Villoch

Chief Executive Officer — Baptist Health South Florida Foundation

Alexandra (Alex) Villoch is currently the CEO of the Baptist Health Foundation, part of Baptist Health South Florida, one of the largest regional healthcare systems in the Southeast, with over 24,000 employees, 10 hospitals serving 4 counties, and over 100 outpatient centers. Villoch was previously the East Region Publisher for McClatchy, a national news media company from 2014 to 2017. She oversaw all print and digital operations at the Miami Herald Media Company. Under her leadership, the Miami Herald was awarded two Pulitzer Prizes as well as other national and international awards for media excellence. Prior to joining the Miami Herald, she was the General Manager for Miami International Airport & the Caribbean for United Airlines, with responsibility for overall passenger and cargo operations, sales functions, as well as government relations. She also served as Financial Controller for the Latin America Division, setting up financial operations across 11 countries plus 7 subsidiary companies, with over 1,800 employees, $800M in revenues, and $300M in expenses. She previously was the Vice President of Strategic & Financial Planning for Southeast Bank, guiding the corporate planning & investment process with over $11B in assets. Prior to that spent ten years with Eastern Airlines, in a variety of positions including Director of Financial Planning and Director/ Controller of International Operations, leading all financial operations across 39 locations in the Caribbean, Mexico, Central, and South America.

Francis A. Hondal is president of loyalty and engagement at Mastercard and a member of the company’s management committee. Francis oversees Mastercard’s development of products that enable exceptional consumer experiences through loyalty, rewards and performance-based marketing services for enterprises worldwide. With over 25 years of experience in consumer marketing, finance and management, Francis has spent her career in the payments and financial services industries. Francis is a first generation Cuban-American and has been named amongst Fortune’s Top 50 Most Powerful Latina Women in corporate America; ranking #19 in 2018 and #15 in 2017. She serves as a Board Member of FIU’s Chapman School of Business and was inducted to the College of Business Administration Hall of Fame in 2015; receiving the Global Leadership Award. In 2013, she received the International Business Woman of the Year Award by the Organization of Women in International Trade. She currently serves on the board of L Brands, home to well-known consumer brands Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret and PINK, and Equitable Holdings, a financial service holding company comprised of two complementary and well-established principal franchises, Equitable and AllianceBernstein. She is also a Board observer for Flybits, a Canadian contextual marketing fintech, and serves on the board of the FIU Foundation. She has a bachelor’s degree in Finance and International Business and an MBA from Florida International University (FIU). Francis lives with her family in Miami.

Vice President & Regional Executive — Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta – Miami Branch

Karen is a vice president and regional executive at the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. On behalf of the bank, she is responsible for the Miami Branch’s board of directors, leads Miami’s community economic development outreach activities and oversees its economic and financial education programs. As part of the Regional Economic Information Network she is responsible for economic intelligence gathering in the local business and academic community to support the Atlanta Bank’s contributions to the monetary policy process. Karen is an active member of the Miami business community. She serves as a director and chair emeritus of Health Foundation of South Florida. Karen has served as a member of the Healthy Aging Regional Collaborative, a Health Foundation Initiative, focused on providing community-based delivered services to support healthy aging. Karen serves on the board of directors for the Florida Council of Economic Education whose mission is to ensure that Florida k-12 students learn about economics and the free enterprise system. Karen also is a board member of the Center for Financial Training, which provides educational offerings to advance knowledge in finance and banking. She also serves as a director for the Florida Institute for Health Innovation and is a member of the International Women’s Forum. She has been recognized as one of the Power Leaders in Banking & Finance in South Florida by the South Florida Business Journal. She is a former trustee for the Miami Chamber of Commerce. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida.

Robert (Rob) G. Finizio is Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder, and Director of TherapeuticsMD Inc., an innovative women’s health pharmaceutical company. With over 25 years of healthcare experience, Rob co-founded TherapeuticsMD (TXMD) in 2008, combining his background in women’s healthcare, pharmaceutical technology, and clinical software. Under Rob’s leadership, TherapeuticsMD has become a leader in women’s health, pharmaceutical development, and commercialization. In 2011, Rob took TherapeuticsMD public on the NYSE and later moving the company to the NASDAQ, with a market capitalization that exceeded a billion dollars. Since then, Rob raised over $900 million in capital to become the first company in over 20 years to have three new products FDA approved in Women’s Health in a single year and commercialize these assets. Before TherapeuticsMD, Rob co-founded CareFusion in 2001. CareFusion was a pioneer in hospital patient safety systems for point of care medication, blood, and specimen verification. Cardinal Health acquired CareFusion in 2006. Rob currently serves as a director for two non-profit organizations: Rob is the Vice Chairman for BioFlorida, a director with the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Foundation, and a director for two biotech start-up companies: Pleo Pharmaceuticals and Zyversa Corporation. Rob has appeared on multiple business/pharmaceutical television programs including Mad Money, SquakBox, and Bloomberg. He has been an invited guest to discuss his entrepreneurial and healthcare experience at the Harvard Business School Alumni Association, BioFlorida, the University of Miami and multiple other organizations. Prior to his healthcare career, Rob obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Miami majoring in pre-med and psychology. He also taught English as a second language in Osaka, Japan.
