Ruth G. Shaw
Ruth, past president and CEO of Duke Power Company, joined her first corporate board in 1992 when she was president of Central Piedmont Community College. That board was First Union, on which she served through its combination with Wachovia and until its acquisition by Wells Fargo. She has served on the boards of many Fortune 100 companies, NASDAQ listed companies, private equity-backed companies, and family-owned companies. She has chaired several compensation committees and several governance committees. She has also served on audit and sustainability/environmental committees. She recently retired as a member of the board of Dow Inc. and chair of its compensation committee. She is currently the Lead Independent Director for DTE Energy; chairs the Governance Committee for SPX Corp; and chairs the Governance Committee for family-owned Southwire, Inc. Ruth has a PhD from UT at Austin.

Tom is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Barings, a $327+ billion global financial services firm with offices across the U.S., Europe, Australia and Asia. Tom has worked in the industry since 1986 and his financial career has included roles in both the banking and investment management industries. He joined the firm in June 2002, when Babson Capital Management acquired First Union Institutional Debt Management (IDM), a $3.6 billion high yield loan manager which he co-founded, from Wachovia Corporation. From December 2008 to May 2011, Tom also served as EVP and CIO for the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company but relinquished these responsibilities to focus on the expanding Babson Capital enterprise. Tom holds an M.B.A. from Duke and a bachelor's degree from UVA’s McIntire School of Commerce.

With P&L operational responsibility for multiple $1B+ divisions, she retired in 2019 as the Sector Vice President and General Manager of the Cyber and Intelligence Mission Solutions Division for Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NGC) Mission Systems Sector. Linnie also led Engineering, Supply Chain and Product Development functions for the NGC space sector. She received her BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC) and is the recipient of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering Mark A. Stevens Distinguished Alumni Award.

She earned her MBA and BS degrees from Duke University, majoring in economics and computer science.
